⏪ Valerie Williams Pottery Valerie specializes in bowls that are functional and light, graceful and very usable. She never liked stoneware – too heavy, and she didn’t like the scratchy feeling of the fork on the matte glazes. So when Valerie started throwing clay, she knew she wanted thin walls on her pots and a very smooth glaze. But Valerie found an affinity for stoneware. She loves the malleability of the clay and the communication she feels with the material when she’s throwing. |

Ashley Vance ⏩ Printmaking & Mixed Media Ashley Fay Vance is a printmaker and mixed media artist from Knoxville, Iowa. In 2022, Ashley graduated with her BFA in integrated studio arts from Iowa State University, with a minor in women’s and gender studies. Ashley’s work focuses on issues regarding feminism and social justice and primarily comprises different types of print media. Ashley is interning for ceramics artist Caroline Freese and attending grad school for art therapy and counseling in the fall. |
