Students will also learn how to use value in volume\, pattern and perspective with burnishing and blending techniques. At the end of the class\, students will be able to recognize different themes in their drawings such as symbolism\, metaphors and contemporary relationships as they relate personally their work\, and themselves. Self-published children’s author and Illustrator of My Very Silly Monster\, Tim Read will share what he has learned on his creative journey into children’s publishing. He will talk about the ins and outs of self-publishing as well as the challenges of the genre. \nStudents will have an opportunity to share their manuscript and receive positive constructive feedback from other classmates and the instructor. Elements of 2 and 3 – D art will be covered during the process in a relaxed and creative environment. Students will be instructed on the use of low-temp glue guns and construction techniques. This is your time to choose freely from the buffet line of materials like wire\, cardboard\, fabric\, felt\, feathers\, beads\, bobbles\, bric – a – brac\, paint\, sparkly stuff.
