Getting here. Ames is at the crossroads of I-35 (North/South) and US 30 (East/West). From the North/South: Take I-35 exit 113 and turn westward on E 13th Street toward Ames. Take E 13th Street about 1.5 miles. Turn left (south) Duff Avenue for just over half a mile to 5th Street. Turn right (west) on 5th for one block. From the East/West: Take US 30 exit 148 for US 69/Duff Avenue. Turn north onto US 69/Duff Avenue and travel just over 1.5 miles to 5th Street. Turn left onto 5th Street for one block.
Parking. You’ll find metered parking all around the building; the meters utilize coins and a parking app. A large free 2 and 4 hour parking lot spans an area between Clark and Duff just south of Main Street. Our Shop staff can make change for you if you need to feed a meter.
Checking in. Check in will be located in the Community Gallery of The Octagon. You may enter through the Octagon Shop (#413), the Community Gallery (#417) or The Octagon Main Entrance (#427). The Community Gallery is located on the street level between the Shop and the main entrance.
You do not need to bring an email receipt or registration ticket, unless the registration has been transferred to you by someone else (if someone else purchased the registration, but couldn’t use it and transferred it to you).
